Yes, Chris Henry is the next Julius Jones. There's a reason why the Titans and Texans had the 2 worst drafts according to all of the "experts". Henry is one prime example.

Re: White Working to Remove All Doubts

I watched the NFL Network today and they was talking to Jeff Fisher and they asked him about the 2nd pick in the draft, he said chris henry will be the biggest story of the 2007 season. I'm telling you this kid has the tools to be a star in the NFL...

You'd better hope so. They screwed the pooch not drafting Meachem. They needed to get your boy some help.

True but KJ would be a great pick up. Mike Griff is a good pick you'll see

Re: White Working to Remove All Doubts

RB Henry impressive in rookie orientation
By Gary Glenn
Titans Online

RB Chris Henry, the team's second-round pick out of Arizona, looked strong during rookie orientation Friday at Baptist Sports Park.
NASHVILLE, TN, May 4, 2007 "? Running back Chris Henry passed his first test Friday at Baptist Sports Park, running hard and catching passes out of the backfield with ease during the first day of rookie minicamp at Baptist Sports park.

Henry, drafted in the second round (50th overall) out of Arizona, ran with speed, turning in one of the impressive rookie performances of the day. Afterwards, he met with reporters to discuss his first full day in the National football League.

RB CHRIS HENRY
(on how he felt during his first practice)

It felt good. I'm excited and I'm happy to be here. This morning when we did our first practice I was like in awe and it finally hit me that I'm here, but it's amazing. I can't believe I'm here. I'm ready to do work.

(on if he has a lot to prove being a second-round draft pick)

I think anybody has a lot to prove coming into a new ball club as a rookie. Like I said, I'm excited. They took me early, but even if I had gone undrafted I still would have come in and worked as hard as I'm working now. It's all good.

(on his smooth catches today at practice, and if that's part of his game)

Definitely. I've definitely work on catching the ball over the years and I've gotten better and better at it, and I'll only get better.

(on if he sees this as a new start)

Definitely. It's always been evident that I would be a better NFL running back than I was in college. That's why a lot of different teams were looking at me in potential because they know that one day I'm going to be a really good NFL running back, and I'm excited.

(on why he projected as a better NFL running back than he was in college)

I think a lot of schemes are more consistent. A lot of teams are established teams that have been around forever and they have a lot of veteran players. You're not playing with guys that are there for just four years and are gone. You have players here that have been around for six, seven, eight, nine, 10 years, and it's amazing to play around those kinds of guys.

(on if he was uncomfortable with his college offensive system)

There were definitely a lot of different schemes, a lot of transition. Arizona is a really good team and I enjoyed playing there. During my last couple of years there we started to get it together. It definitely was a good experience and it got me here.

(on if he feels like he's been freed up in some ways)

A little bit. You get to play on this elite level with all of these elite athletes. It raises my level of competition because I'm such a competitor. I'm anxious to get with the rest of the guys and the rest of the team on the 16th. I can't wait.

(on if he's eager to shed the word "?potential')

Yeah, but I feel once you do shed that, you still have to work. You have the greatest players who are still working hard and are still in the weight room. They're still working hard to get their game crisp and where they want it to be. You can't be complacent in your abilities. You have to want more.

(on how he would describe himself as a runner)

I'm definitely more of the one cut and go type of guy, but I also have the speed and agility to get to the outside if I have to. I have three of four different facets to my game that I use when I have to.

(on what NFL player he compares himself to)

I wouldn't really compare myself to them, but the running backs that I really enjoy watching: Stephen Jackson is a great running back, Larry Johnson is a great running back, and I used to watch a lot of Jim Brown film. Eddie George is an amazing running back. I wore 27 my first two years in college, so hopefully I will get to meet him. That would be great.

(on finally making it to the NFL)

This morning when I stepped into the dome, I couldn't believe it. I just had to calm myself down and go through the warm-ups. I finally caught my breath and I went with it.

(on how much he'll be used as a pass catcher)

I can catch the ball really well. I believe that is evident, so whatever I can do to help the team win as far as catching the ball, running ball, special teams ? anything ? I am willing to do it and hopefully it will be a lot.

(on if he wants to start)

I think everybody wants to start. Definitely, I want to start. That would be a great thing, but I have a lot of work ahead of me and I'm just ready to work.

(on LenDale White saying he had never heard of him)

Who? (laughing), No, LenDale is a great running back. I've never met him, but I've seen him run for three years, playing in the Pac 10 together. I'm sorry he doesn't know who I am, but he is a great running back and it will be an honor to play on the same field as him and also Quinton Ganther and everybody here, so I look forward to it.

Re: White Working to Remove All Doubts

just remmeber that Willie Parker wasn't even drafted and look at what Ron Dane has done. some picks work and some don't.
I still think White will be a good back and this 2nd rounder may be a huge get or may be a bust. It is hard to tell what the Titans have seen. could be like the Steelers with Parker and had watched him from very, very early in his playing days if someone had the chance to watch him that early

Re: White Working to Remove All Doubts

Considering his lack of playing time in college, I doubt they have seen much more than anyone else in the league.

Re: White Working to Remove All Doubts

remember Willie Parker was a bench warmer at NC too. I guess he didnt mesh with what the new coach wanted to do down there. There wasn't much playing time for Parker after that

Willie is also lightning fast. This White kid is average at best.
